January 26 , 11am - 2pm @ Contantia Shopping Centre
Over 50 million animals, (excluding rabbits) and over 3 million cats and dogs die for fur coats every year.
Nearly 30 million of these animals are bred in fur farms, the rest are caught through cruel trapping methods.
Mink and other animals (including cats and dogs) are raised in fur farms, they will spend their lives living in inhumane conditions, the stress caused from them being in these captive conditions cause these animals to form neurotic behaviour patterns such as tail biting, self-mutilation, cannibalism and ear chewing. As with other intensive-confinement animal farms, the methods used in fur factory farms are designed to maximize profits, always at the expense of the animals.
In order to preserve the pelts, animals on fur farms are killed by anal electrocution, (to the mouth and anus), connected to a portable 12v battery via a step-up transformer producing 200 volts. Other methods include gassing, neck-breaking.

We are protesting the fact that despite months of written and verbal requests that the Caroline Ohlsen boutique is still selling fur clothing and accessories.
Centre management has written to us assuring us that all the fur has been removed and then written back to us telling us that it is within the law for them to sell it!
Caroline Ohlsen is still selling fur, even after they have assured us it would be removed.
Please join us our protest and help us remove fur from South Africa.
Saturday, 26 January, from 11am to 2pm
